論「不斷因故說為持因」，《正理論》云「為持因者，由彼力持令不斷故，如食持命。」
The treatise says: "Because it is an uninterrupted cause, it is called the maintaining cause." The Nyāyānusāra says: "As for the maintaining cause: by its power it sustains it so that it is not interrupted, just as food maintains life."
