8.36

論「欲所屬界至如金剛環」，釋欲、色界名也。如飲中有胡椒，胡椒屬飲義。如鐶上有金剛，金剛屬環義。由此飲名胡椒，環名金剛。

On the Śāstra's statement: "The realm belonging to desire ... like a diamond ring": this explains the names of the desire realm and the form realm. Just as pepper is in a drink, the pepper belongs to the drink. Just as there is a diamond on a ring, the diamond belongs to the ring. Thereby the drink is called "pepper[-drink]" and the ring is called "diamond[-ring]".
