8.53

論「欲化心上如何起貪」，難也。若欲貪繫名為欲界，欲界化心離欲方得，若起欲貪又失化心，如何化心是欲界也。

On the Śāstra's question: "How can greed arise toward a mind of magical transformation of the desire realm?": this is an objection. If being bound by desire-greed is called the desire realm, the mind of magical transformation in the desire realm is obtained only after separating from desire; if one gives rise to desire-greed, one loses the mind of magical transformation again.
