8.71

論「謂《七有經》至異諸趣故」，答也。既《七有經》五趣之外別說中有，故知中有非趣所攝，唯是無覆無記性攝，其理極成，簡業有因異諸趣故。業既通於善、染、非趣所攝，故知唯是無覆無記。

On the Śāstra's statement: "It refers to the *Saptabhava-sūtra* ... because it is distinct from the destinies": this is the reply. Since the *Saptabhava-sūtra* speaks of intermediate existence separately from the five destinies, it is known that intermediate existence is not subsumed under destinies, and that the principle that it is subsumed exclusively under the non-obscured and neutral is fully established, because it excludes the cause of existence consisting of karma as distinct from the destinies. Since karma extends to both good and defiled and is not subsumed under destinies, it is known to be exclusively non-obscured and neutral.
