論「若爾安立應不俱成」，外難。為因之時不可為果，為果之時不可為因，如何二義俱得成也？

On the Śāstra's statement: 'If so, their establishment would not both be tenable': an external objection. When it is a cause, it cannot be an effect; when it is an effect, it cannot be a cause. How can both meanings be established simultaneously?
