論「又聲論師至於俗無謬」，破聲論作者作用別也。聲論師作者如勝論實句，作用如德句，其法別也。離其作者無別作用，如刀能割，豈有別耶？我立用不離體，於俗無謬。

The treatise says: "Furthermore, the grammarians [posit an agent separate from action] to [is not erroneous in worldly convention]." This refutes the grammarian's separation of agent and action. To the grammarian, the agent is like the Vaiśeṣika substance category (dravya-padārtha) and the action is like the quality category (guṇa-padārtha), their entities being distinct. But apart from the agent there is no distinct action—just as a knife can cut, could there be a distinct [cutting]? Our positing that action is not separate from entity is not erroneous in worldly convention.
