論「貪妙資具至此位名愛」，此出第八愛支體也。「貪妙資具婬愛現行」，簡前。「未廣追求」，異後。「此位名愛」者，非唯一法，總取五蘊故言此位。此位初能愛於資財及婬境故。

The treatise says: "Craving exquisite necessities... this state is named craving (tṛṣṇā)." This presents the intrinsic nature of the eighth link, tṛṣṇā. "Craving exquisite necessities and the active manifestation of sexual craving" excludes what precedes. "Not yet broadly pursuing" distinguishes what follows. "This state is named tṛṣṇā" does not refer to a single factor alone; because it takes the five skandhas as a whole, it says "this state." This is because in this state one is first able to crave wealth and sexual objects.
