The treatise says: "Or furthermore, 'obstruction' means... because they operate having converged." This is the second explanation. This refers to the grasper (cognizer) and the grasped (object). When that which possesses an object and the object arise having converged, it is called having opposition; it is definitely not an obstruction of substance or an obstruction of taking a fruit, and so forth.
