[On] the treatise's: "Among the fluctuating roots of good... it is called Summit", this explains the name 'Summit'. Therein are two [meanings]: first, because it is supreme among fluctuating roots of good that can fall back, it is called a summit, like the crown of a person's head. Second, because it marks the two margins of advance and retreat, like a mountain peak, it is therefore called a summit. The Nyāyānusāra says: "The word 'summit' indicates that this is the most supreme point. Just as when an auspicious event reaches completion, worldly people say that this person has reached the summit; being supreme among fluctuating goods, it is therefore named Summit."
