由此說無表者，結成。由此者，由此上三句得立無表名。說者，顯此是師宗言。無表雖以色業為性，同有表業，然非表示令他了知，故名無表。

'From this it is called unmanifest' concludes and establishes [the definition]. 'From this' means that from these three preceding lines, it obtains the name 'unmanifest'. 'It is called' shows that this is the doctrine of the masters of our school. Although the unmanifest has form and action as its nature, identical to manifest action, yet it does not indicate or cause another to know; hence it is called 'unmanifest'.
