'Each according to what is appropriate, are subsumed within what was expounded before' clarifies the treatise subsuming the sūtras. That is, the three—skandhas, āyatanas, and dhātus—clarified in the sūtras are each, according to what is appropriate, subsumed within this treatise. In 'what was expounded before', the five skandhas of this treatise subsume the five skandhas of the sūtras, the twelve āyatanas of this treatise subsume the ten all-pervading bases and so forth of the sūtras, and the eighteen dhātus of this treatise subsume the sixty-two elements of the sūtras; hence it says 'each according to what is appropriate'.
