釋曰：上句釋藏，下句釋名。攝彼勝義依彼故者，以二義釋藏也。一攝彼勝義故、二依彼故。攝彼勝義者，包含名藏，謂此《俱舍》攝彼對法《發智論》等諸勝義言，故名為藏。對法之藏，名對法藏，依主釋也。依彼者，所依名藏，謂此《俱舍》，依彼對法《發智論》等，從彼引生，彼是所依，故名為藏。《發智論》等是對法藏，今此《俱舍》有對法藏，故名對法藏，有財釋也。此立對法《俱舍》名者，結成也。

Commentary: The upper line explains "kośa" (treasury / repository), and the lower line explains the name. "Because it encompasses its ultimate meaning and relies on it" explains "kośa" through two meanings: first, because it encompasses its ultimate meaning; second, because it relies on it. "Encompasses its ultimate meaning": "kośa" means containing; that is to say, this Kośa encompasses the ultimate words of that Abhidharma, such as the Jñānaprasthāna, and is therefore called a treasury. The treasury of Abhidharma is called Abhidharmakośa, a genitive tatpuruṣa compound. "Relies on it": "kośa" means that upon which it relies; that is to say, this Kośa relies upon that Abhidharma, such as the Jñānaprasthāna, and is derived from it; since that is what it relies upon, it is called a treasury. The Jñānaprasthāna and others are the Abhidharmakośa; now, this Kośa possesses the Abhidharmakośa, hence it is called Abhidharmakośa, a bahuvrīhi compound. "This is established with the name Abhidharmakośa" concludes the point.
