10.56

釋曰：上來所明無明等四，所餘六支已說當說，故此不論。且識與六處，〈界品〉已說，前言識謂各了別，是識支也。名眼等五根，六處支也。行有二支，〈業品〉當說。愛、取二支，〈隨眠品〉說。生、老死二是識等攝，故無指陳。

Explanation: The four previously explained are ignorance and so forth; the remaining six factors have been or will be explained, and are therefore not discussed here. As for consciousness and the six sense spheres, they were already explained in the 'Chapter on the Elements' (Dhātu-nirdeśa): the earlier statement that consciousness is individual awareness refers to the consciousness factor; the names eye and the other four sense faculties refer to the factor of the six sense spheres. The two factors of formations (saṃskāra) and existence (bhava) will be explained in the 'Chapter on Karma' (Karma-nirdeśa). The two factors of craving and grasping will be explained in the 'Chapter on Latent Tendencies' (Anuśaya-nirdeśa). Birth and old-age-and-death are subsumed under consciousness and the rest, and therefore are not specifically indicated.
