'Physical food belongs to desire and has only three substances' clarifies the substance of physical food. Such physical food is bound exclusively to the desire realm, and its substance comprises only three sense data, namely scent, taste, and tangibles. It is called 'morsel/physical food' because it can be divided into portions to be eaten and drunk; that is, it is taken in portion by portion through the mouth and nose. Although light, shadow, warmth, cool, ointments, washing, and so forth lack portions, because they provide nourishment, they are also called food; therefore, the term 'physical/morsel food' is stated based on the majority. The reason light, shadow, warmth, and coolness are called food is that meeting sunlight when cold or encountering a fire, finding tree shade when hot, and feeling cool breezes all benefit a person; thus they are all called food.
