傍生壽量多少無定限，若壽量極長亦一中劫，故世尊言：「大龍有八，謂難陀等，皆住一劫，而能持大地。」
The lifespan of animals has no fixed limit as to quantity; its extreme length is also one intermediate kalpa. Therefore the World-Honoured One said: 'There are eight great nāgas, Nanda and the others, who all abide for one kalpa and can support the great earth.'
