11.79

釋曰：四天王等六欲天壽，如其次第為等活等六捺落迦一晝一夜，壽量如次亦同彼天，謂四天王天壽量五百歲，於等活地獄為一晝一夜，乘此晝夜成月及年，以如是年，彼等活地獄壽五百歲。乃至他化天壽萬六千歲，於第六炎熱地獄為一晝一夜，乘此晝夜成月及年，彼炎熱地獄壽一萬六千歲。第七極熱地獄壽半中劫，無間地獄壽一中劫，二十增減為一中劫也。

The commentary says: The lifespans of the six desire heavens, Cāturmahārājakāyika and the rest, in their proper order constitute one day and one night for the six nar Milestone nar Milestone hells, Saṃjīva and the rest, and their lifespans in order likewise equal those of the heavens: that is, the lifespan of the Cāturmahārājakāyika heaven, five hundred years, is one day and one night in the Saṃjīva hell; multiplying this day and night to form months and years, by such years the lifespan of that Saṃjīva hell is five hundred years. Up to the Paranirmitavaśavartin heaven's lifespan of sixteen thousand years, which is one day and one night in the sixth, the Tapana hell; multiplying this day and night to form months and years, the lifespan of that Tapana hell is sixteen thousand years. The lifespan of the seventh, the Pratāpana hell, is half an intermediate kalpa; the lifespan of the Avīci hell is one intermediate kalpa—twenty increases and decreases constitute one intermediate kalpa.
