"What is born of concentration relies on the nourished, being unappropriated, without distinct primary elements" explains the primary elements upon which the avijñapti of concentration relies. The avijñapti born of concentration is twofold: the dhyāna discipline and the undefiled discipline. The primary elements upon which these two avijñaptis rely are solely of a nourished nature, because while in concentration one is necessarily able to nourish the four primary elements; hence the primary elements born of concentration are solely of a nourished nature. Moreover, the primary elements of concentration are unappropriated, because in the state of concentration there is definitely no attached mind that appropriates these primary elements as an internal self-entity, hence they are unappropriated. "Without distinct primary elements" indicates that the seven branches of the avijñapti of concentration are produced by a single set of four primary elements, because these primary elements are simultaneous with the concentrated mind; since the concentrated mind is one, this set of primary elements is also solely one set. Furthermore, because these seven branches mutually constitute a single fruit, they are produced without distinct primary elements.
