從此第七，明離虛誑語，論云：「何緣但制離虛誑語，非離間語等為近事戒？亦由前說三種因故，謂虛誑語最可呵故，諸在家者易遠離故，一切聖者得不作故。復有別因。」頌曰：
From here, the seventh part explains abstaining from false speech. The treatise says: "For what reason was abstaining only from false speech instituted, and not abstaining from divisive speech and so forth, as the precept for a lay follower? It is also due to the three previously stated reasons: false speech is the most blameworthy, it is easy for householders to abandon, and all noble ones have obtained its non-performance. Furthermore, there is another distinct reason." The verse says:
