'The latter two evolve conforming to the mind': only the two, [the restraints of] absorption and the path, are said to conform to the mind in evolution. When entering absorption they exist; when emerging from absorption they do not. Being simultaneous with the mind of absorption, they are called conforming to the mind in evolution. The precepts of prātimokṣa do not evolve conforming to the mind; they continuously evolve even during a different mind or mindless state (a 'different mind' means bad or unmanifested).
