14.71

釋曰：定生得定地者，明得定戒也。有漏未至中間、四根本禪及上三近分靜慮，名為定地。此定生戒與定心俱，故得定地，得定戒也。

The explanation says: "That born of absorption is acquired through the stage of absorption" clarifies the acquisition of the discipline of absorption. The defiled-free preliminary (anāgamya), the intermediate (dhyānāntara), the four fundamental dhyānas, and the upper three access concentrations (sāmantaka) are called the stages of absorption. This discipline born of absorption is simultaneous with the absorbed mind; therefore, upon acquiring the stage of absorption, one acquires the discipline of absorption.
