14.72

彼聖得道生者，明得道戒也。彼謂彼前靜慮，復說聖言，簡取六地，謂未至、中間、四根本定，唯此六地有無漏道，故說聖言，簡取無漏六靜慮地。得彼聖道，得道生戒，與心俱故。

"A noble one's [stage] acquires that born of the path" clarifies the acquisition of the discipline of the path. "That" refers to the preceding dhyānas; moreover, the word "noble" is stated to select six stages: the preliminary, intermediate, and four fundamental absorptions. Only these six stages possess the uncontaminated path; therefore, the word "noble" is stated to select the uncontaminated six dhyāna stages. Upon acquiring that noble path, one acquires the discipline born of the path, because it is simultaneous with the mind.
