15.104

由業異熟生者，已下明狂總有五因：一、由業異熟，謂由彼用藥物、呪術令他心狂，或令他飲藥毒、藥酒，或現威嚴怖禽獸等，或放火燒山，或造坑阱陷損眾生，或餘事業令他失念，由此當來感別異熟，能令心狂。

Regarding "arises from karma maturation": From here downward, madness is clarified as having five causes in total: (1) From the maturation of karma; that is, because someone used drugs or incantations to cause another's mind to go mad, or caused another to drink poisonous medicine or medicated wine, or displayed intimidation to terrify birds and beasts, or set fire to burn a mountain, or made pits and traps to injure sentient beings, or through other actions caused another to lose mindfulness, by this they will in the future experience a distinct maturation that causes the mind to go mad.
