15.106

除北洲在欲者，明處也。欲界五趣皆容有狂，地獄恒狂，餘趣容有。欲界聖中，佛無有狂，自餘諸聖大種乖違容有心狂。無異熟生，由得聖故。亦無驚怖，超五畏故（不活畏、惡名畏、大眾畏、死畏、惡趣畏也）。亦無傷害，非人敬故。亦無愁憂，證法性故。

[Regarding the phrase] 'except in the Northern Continent, it exists in desire': this clarifies the locus. In the five destinies of the desire realm, madness can generally occur: in the hells there is constant madness, while in the other destinies it may occur. Among noble ones in the desire realm, the Buddha is free from madness; as for the other noble ones, madness of mind may occur due to discord among the primary elements. There is no [madness] born of karmic maturation [for them], because they have attained noble status. Nor is there fright, because they have transcended the five fears (the fears of losing livelihood, of ill repute, of assemblies, of death, and of evil destinies). Nor is there injury, because non-humans revere them. Nor is there grief, because they have realized the nature of phenomena.
