17.43

釋曰：斷道者，諸無間道，以無間道能證無為斷及能斷惑，得斷道名。此道有二種者，通有漏無漏也。

Explanation: The path of abandoning refers to the uninterrupted paths, because the uninterrupted path is able to realize unconditioned cessation and able to cut off defilements; thus it receives the name 'path of abandoning'. This path is of two kinds: it includes both contaminated and uncontaminated.
