從此第八，明施制多福，論云：「如前所明，未離欲等持己所有，奉施制多，此施名為唯為自益。既無受者，福如何成？」頌曰：
From here [in the] eighth [section], [the text] explains the merit of giving to a caitya. The śāstra says: "As explained previously, when someone not yet free from desire takes what belongs to them and offers it in giving to a caitya, this giving is termed 'solely for one's own benefit.' Since there is no recipient, how is merit accomplished?" The verse says:
