從此第二，明見修斷，論云：「於此所斷九十八中，前八十八名見所斷，忍所害故；後十隨眠名修所斷，智所害故（總標）。如是所說見、修所斷為決定不（問也）？不爾（答也）。云何（徵也）？」頌曰：

Next is the second division, explaining abandonment by vision and cultivation. The treatise says: "Among these ninety-eight abandoned items, the first eighty-eight are called abandoned by vision, because they are destroyed by patient acceptance; the last ten anusayas are called abandoned by cultivation, because they are destroyed by knowledge (general thesis). Is this statement of what is abandoned by vision and cultivation definitive (inquiry)? It is not (answer). How so (investigation)?" The verse says:
