法一分是根者，於法界中一分是根，謂命根。樂等五受根，信等五根，此十一根是法界攝。後三無漏根一分亦法界攝，由三無漏以九根為體，所謂意、喜、樂、捨、信等五根。此九根中，唯意根一非法界攝，所餘八根是法界攝。故三無漏根中，取一分名法界攝也。

'A part of the phenomena [element] is a faculty': within the phenomena element, a part is a faculty, namely the life faculty, the five feeling faculties of pleasure and the like, and the five faculties of faith and the like; these eleven faculties are subsumed under the phenomena element. A part of the latter three uncontaminated faculties is also subsumed under the phenomena element, because the three uncontaminated [faculties] take nine faculties as their entity: namely, mind, joy, pleasure, equanimity, and the five faculties of faith and the like. Among these nine faculties, only the mind faculty alone is not subsumed under the phenomena element, while the remaining eight faculties are subsumed under the phenomena element. Therefore, within the three uncontaminated faculties, taking a part is named being subsumed under the phenomena element."
