2.23

以意地散慧者，出計度分別體。散謂非定，簡定中慧。意識相應，簡五識心。故第六識相應散慧，名為計度分別。

"Consists of distracted wisdom of the mental stage" identifies the essential nature of deliberative conceptualization. "Distracted" means not in absorption (samādhi), excluding wisdom within absorption. "Associated with the mind-consciousness" excludes the consciousnesses of the five senses. Therefore, the distracted wisdom associated with the sixth consciousness is termed deliberative conceptualization.
