20.8

五可生自世者，未來五識相應貪、瞋若未斷，可生者唯繫自世，在未來世唯繫未來，若流至現唯繫現在，若落謝過去唯於過去，謂境必俱故。

As for "the five, capable of arising, [bind] their own time-period": if the attachment and anger associated with the five consciousnesses in the future are not yet severed and are capable of arising, they bind only their own time-period: while in the future time-period, they bind only the future; if they flow into the present, they bind only the present; if they fall away into the past, they bind only in the past, because their object must be simultaneous [with them].
