22.18

如瓶水世俗者，如瓶世俗屬初句也，如水世俗屬第二句也。然此瓶、水未被析時，假立此名，稱為世俗，依世俗理說有瓶等，是實非虛，名世俗諦。

"Conventional, like a pot or water": "like a pot conventional" belongs to the first line; "like water conventional" belongs to the second line. However, before this pot or water has been analyzed, this name is provisionally established and designated as conventional. Based on conventional principle, pots and so forth are said to exist; this is real and not false, and is called conventional truth.
