23.78

名信解見至者，此住果人，若鈍根者名為信解，若利根者名為見至。前隨信行，今名信解，謂由信故，勝解相顯，名為信解。前隨法行，今名見至，謂由向見，得至果見，故名見至。此二聖者信、慧互增，故標信解、見至名別。

Regarding 'named released by faith or attained to view': among those abiding in fruit, if of dull faculties, they are called released by faith; if of sharp faculties, they are called attained to view. Those who were previously followers by faith are now named released by faith, meaning that through faith, the mark of resolute faith becomes evident, hence named 'released by faith'. Those who were previously followers of Dharma are now named attained to view, meaning that through seeing in the path of an enterer, they attain to seeing in fruition, hence named 'attained to view'. These two noble beings have faith or wisdom predominantly, hence they are designated by the different names 'released by faith' and 'attained to view'.
