25.64

釋曰：初業者，謂修別相、總相念住位也。此初業位能審照了身等四境，慧用勝故，說念住增。順決擇者，煗等四位也，且煗位中能證異品（決擇分也）殊勝功德，勤用勝故，說正斷增。頂法位中趣無退位，定用勝故，說神足增。忍法位中必不退墮，善根堅固，得增上義，說五根增。世第一位非世惑法所能屈伏，得無屈義，說五力增。

The explanation says: 'Beginners' refers to the stage of cultivating the individual and general applications of mindfulness. In this beginner stage, one can closely illuminate the four objects of body, and so on; because the function of wisdom is superior, the applications of mindfulness are said to increase. 'Aids to penetration' refers to the four stages of Heat, and so forth. In the stage of Heat, one is able to realize the distinctive virtues of the other factors (the aids to penetration); because the function of diligence is superior, the right abandonments are said to increase. In the stage of Summits, one approaches the stage of non-regression; because the function of concentration is superior, the bases of psychic power are said to increase. In the stage of Acquitances, one definitely does not regress and fall away, the beneficial roots are firm, and one attains the meaning of predominance; thus the five faculties are said to increase. In the stage of Supreme Mundane Dharmas, one cannot be subdued by mundane deluded dharmas and attains the meaning of unconquerability; thus the five powers are said to increase.
