25.65

及修見道位者，修道位中近菩提位，助覺勝故，說七覺增。見道位中速疾而轉，通行勝故，說八正道增。有餘師說：於見道位建立覺支，如實覺知四聖諦，故於見、修二位建立八道支，以此二位俱通直往涅槃城故。

'And cultivating the path of seeing': In the stage of the path of cultivation, being close to the stage of awakening, the assistance to awakening is superior; thus the seven factors of awakening are said to increase. In the stage of the path of seeing, operating with rapid progression, the passage through the path is superior; thus the eight factors of the noble path are said to increase. Another master says: In the stage of the path of seeing, the awakening factors are established because one awakens to and knows the four noble truths in accordance with reality; in both stages of seeing and cultivating, the eight path factors are established because both of these stages lead directly and without obstruction to the city of nirvāṇa.
