Regarding 'Regarding superior stages, faculties, and states, as well as past and future times, they do not know': this explains that knowledge of others' minds does not know the minds of higher stages; it cannot know superior stages, superior faculties, superior states, or minds of the past and future. Not knowing superior stages means that knowledge of others' minds of a lower stage does not know minds of a higher stage. Not knowing superior faculties means that knowledge of others' minds of dull faculties—those liberated through faith (adhimukta) or at occasions (samayavimukta)—does not know the minds of those attained to view (dṛṣṭiprāpta) or liberated without occasion (asamayavimukta). Not knowing superior states means that among the knowledges of others' minds of non-returners, śrāvakas, aśaikṣas, solitary buddhas, and the Great Awakened One, each preceding one does not know the mind of the subsequent ones. Not knowing past and future minds means that it takes only present minds and mental factors of others as its object.
