從此第二，明能所化，論云：「化作化事，為即是通（問也）？不爾（答也）。云何（徵也）？是通之果（答。此能化心從神境通，能化生是通果也）。此有幾種？差別云何？」頌曰：

Second, from here on, the transformer and the transformed are explained. The treatise says, "Is the creating of transformed things identical with the supernormal knowledge itself (a question)? It is not (the answer). How so (an inquiry)? It is the fruit of supernormal knowledge (answer: this transforming mind arises from the supernormal knowledge of psychic power, and being able to create transformations is the fruit of the supernormal knowledge). How many kinds of these are there, and what are their distinctions?" The verse says:
