釋曰：欲胎卵濕生，初得二異熟者，欲謂欲界，胎、卵、濕生，除化生也。此之三生，初受生位唯得身、命二異熟根，由此三生根漸起故，不得餘根。

Explanation: 'In desire, womb-, egg-, and moisture-born initially obtain two retributions': 'desire' means the desire realm; womb-, egg-, and moisture-born excludes apparitional birth. For these three modes of birth, at the initial moment of rebirth, they obtain only the two retributive faculties of body and life; because the faculties arise gradually in these three modes of birth, they do not obtain the other faculties.
