4.98

欲色無前起者，謂欲界繫善不善色，無法前得，唯法俱得及法後得，以欲界色是不隨心，勢微劣故，無法前得；是有記故，通法後得。

"Desire-realm form does not arise prior": wholesome and unwholesome form bound to the desire realm has no possession prior to the phenomenon; it has only possession simultaneous with the phenomenon and possession posterior to the phenomenon. Because desire-realm form does not conform to the mind and its power is feeble, it has no possession prior to the phenomenon; because it is determinate, it encompasses possession posterior to the phenomenon.
