4.97

有覆色亦俱者，此明有覆無記色亦如無覆無記，唯法俱得也。有覆色者，謂初禪有覆煩惱所發身、語二色是也。能發煩惱通三種得，所發身語唯法俱得。謂此身語雖有上品，而亦不能發無表故，勢力劣故，由此定無法前後得。

"Defiled form is also simultaneous": this clarifies that defiled indeterminate form is also like the non-defiled indeterminate, having only simultaneous possession with the phenomenon. "Defiled form" refers to bodily and vocal forms produced by the defilements of the first dhyāna. The producing defilements have all three kinds of possession, but the produced bodily and vocal forms have only simultaneous possession with the phenomenon. Although this bodily and vocal action may be of superior grade, it cannot generate non-information form and its power is weak; therefore, it definitely lacks possessions prior to and posterior to the phenomenon.
