7.37

此復從八生者，此欲界加行善心復從八心生，謂自界四、色界二心、無漏二心，故成八也。色界二心者，一、色界善心生欲界善，謂從定出，起欲界善心；二、色界染心生欲界善，謂入定者作如是願：我寧起下地善心，不起上地染污。由此願故，彼染污定所逼惱時，從彼染污定生於下地善，為防退故，是則色染生欲界善也。無漏二心者，從學、無學觀出入欲界善心時。

"And this in turn arises from eight": this applied wholesome mind of the desire realm in turn arises from eight minds—namely, four of its own realm, two minds of the form realm, and two uncorrupted minds; thus making eight.

As for the two minds of the form realm: first, a wholesome mind of the form realm generates desire-realm wholesome, referring to emerging from absorption and giving rise to a wholesome mind of the desire realm; second, a defiled mind of the form realm generates desire-realm wholesome, referring to one who enters absorption and makes this aspiration: 'I would rather give rise to a wholesome mind of a lower stage than a defiled mind of a higher stage.' Due to this aspiration, when afflicted by that defiled absorption, one gives rise from that defiled absorption to wholesome [mind] of the lower stage in order to prevent falling back. Thus, defiled [mind] of form generates desire-realm wholesome.

As for the two uncorrupted minds, it refers to emerging from the contemplation of the trainee or non-trainee and entering a wholesome mind of the desire realm.
