'And the remaining form, joy, and pleasure' clarifies what is bound to the formless realm: within the formless realm, just as in the form realm where the last three faculties and female, male, grief, and suffering are excluded, there are further excluded the remaining form, joy, and pleasure faculties. 'Remaining form' refers to the five faculties beginning with the eye, which are called 'remaining' beyond the male and female faculties. Apart from these, the remaining eight faculties are bound to the formless realm: namely, the five beginning with faith, as well as life, mind, and equanimity.
