[The lines] "One should abandon the blind external attachments, / And, for what wrong views have wrought, seek the eye of wisdom" exhort relinquishment. The views grasped by tīrthikas are called 'wrong views'; lacking the eye of wisdom is termed 'blind'. Turning one's back on the path of cessation, they become causes of transmigration; abandoning them is indeed excellent.
