'Wholesome, experienced only in the next rebirth': 'wholesome' refers to the category of the three natures. This absorption of non-conception is exclusively of a wholesome nature. Because it is wholesome, it can invite the retributive maturation of the five skandhas in the Heaven of Non-conception. 'Experienced only in the next rebirth' clarifies the time of retribution. It means that the absorption of non-conception definitely experiences its fruit in the second lifetime. The word 'only' is to exclude karmas to be experienced in the present life, in subsequent lives, or of unfixed fruition. Therefore the Śāstra states: 'If one gives rise to this absorption and later falls away from it, tradition states that in this present life one will definitely regain the ability to give rise to it and be born in the heaven of sentient beings without conception. Therefore, one who attains this absorption definitely cannot enter into the certainty of acquiring right view (samyaktvaniyāmāvakrānti).' (The intention of this text is to clarify that it is experienced exclusively in the next rebirth.)
