Regarding the distinction between glow and brightness, as the Abhidharmakośa states: The blaze of the sun is called glow; stars, the moon, fire, herbs, gems, and lightning are called brightness. Fine earth blown by the wind is called dust; when the sun rises after rain and vapors ascend from the earth, it is called mist.
