The Vijñaptimātratā further states that they are also conjoined with pliancy; afflictions are three: greed, anger, and delusion; secondary afflictions are twelve: shamelessness, non-embarrassment, torpor, restlessness, faithlessness, indolence, heedlessness, forgetfulness, mental distraction, non-correct awareness, perverse desire, and perverse resolve. This describes the causal stage. In the taintless stage, they are conjoined with twenty-one: the omnipresent, the object-determining, together with the eleven wholesome.
