自下明生有，文分為二，初、明識支最初依託，後、第二卷初辨種子具不具。前中有二：一、總標依託，二、云何下，別釋其義。先問後釋之中有五：一、明依託相狀；二、諸根依此次第當生；三、諸根依處亦次第生名得圓滿；四、識託於色安危共同；五、初託肉心後從此捨。

From here below, [the text] clarifies birth-existence (upapattibhava). The text is divided into two parts: first, clarifying the initial relying and resting of the consciousness link; second, at the beginning of the second fascicle, distinguishing whether seeds are complete or incomplete. Within the former part there are two sections: first, a general statement on the relying and resting; second, from "How?" downward, a distinct explanation of its meaning. Within the question and subsequent explanation there are five points: 1. clarifying the characteristics of relying and resting; 2. that the faculties gradually arise in this sequence; 3. that the loci of the faculties also arise gradually, which is called attaining completion; 4. that consciousness rests upon form, sharing security and danger; 5. that it initially rests upon the physical heart and subsequently departs from it.
