但就種類假名能造，基後說言：初有諸根大種。并有諸扶根大種者，即說造身大種及造扶身塵大種，為造餘四根大種等，非更別有相依而有，是造義故，不爾豈復唯有大種無所造耶？欲界一切四大種不離色觸等故。

It is merely designated metaphorically as "capable of producing" based on their category. Ji later stated: "Initially there are the great elements of the faculties and the great elements supporting the faculties" means that the great elements producing the body and the great elements producing the supporting physical matter of the body are spoken of as the great elements producing the remaining four faculties, and so forth. It does not mean that there are other separate elements existing in mutual reliance, for that is the meaning of "production." If it were not so, how could there be only great elements without anything produced? This is because all four great elements in the desire realm are not separate from visible matter, touchable matter, and so forth.
