備師云：五相雖別而一地造，既有身根與地大俱故。第二分云：同處未有四根，故此文云：相離義無相違，雖有地大不造四根故。

Master Bei says: Although the five characteristics differ, they are produced by a single earth [element], since there is a body faculty present together with the earth element. The second section says that at that locus the four faculties do not yet exist; thus there is no contradiction in this text saying they are separated, because although the earth element exists, it does not produce the four faculties.
