自下明本有漸增長，文分為二：前明胎內增長相；後生後漸次下，明胎外所作事。前中復二：先約種相差別以障果增；後又於胎下，正明胎分增長。前中有十，一、名色漸增，二、因用不同，三、凡聖見異，四、受起差別，五、種子新舊，六、三時報業，七、有染離染，八、麁重隨眠，九、種子眾名，十、轉捨轉得。

From here below, [the treatise] clarifies the gradual growth of basic existence (mūlabhava). The text is divided into two parts: the earlier part clarifies the characteristics of growth inside the womb; the latter part, from "gradually after birth" downward, clarifies the activities outside the womb. Within the former part there are again two sections: first, obstructing the increase of fruition in terms of distinctions in the characteristics of seeds; subsequently, from "further, in the womb" downward, directly clarifying the growth of fetal stages. Within the former section there are ten points: 1. the gradual growth of name-and-form; 2. differences in causes and functions; 3. differences in views between ordinary beings and noble ones; 4. distinctions in the arising of feeling; 5. new and old seeds; 6. karmas ripening in the three times; 7. having defilement and being free from defilement; 8. unfitness and latencies (anuśaya); 9. the multiple names of seeds; 10. abandonment and attainment through transformation.
