第九、種子眾名，略舉有十一，界者，因義性義；種姓者，類別義；自性者，體義；因者，能生他義；薩迦耶者，虛偽身可破壞義，戲論者，分別義，所分別故；阿賴耶者，所受著義；取者，所取義，苦者，逼迫義；薩迦耶見及我慢所依處者，我見我慢依生處義。

Ninth: the multiple names of seeds. Briefly enumerated, there are eleven: "realm" (dhātu) means cause and nature; "gotra" means difference of categories; "intrinsic nature" (svabhāva) means substance; "cause" (hetu) means capable of producing another; "satkāya" means perishable and destructible body; "conceptual proliferation" (prapañca) means discrimination, because it is what is discriminated; "ālaya" means what is clung to; "appropriation" (upādāna) means what is appropriated; "suffering" (duḥkha) means oppression; and "locus of reliance for the view of individuality and ego-pride" means the locus where the view of self and ego-pride arise and rely.
