From here below, matters undertaken outside the womb are explained; the text is divided into two. First, the activities undertaken in gradual succession are explained; next, from "Moreover, all sentient beings..." downward, it explains that from beginningless time, the preceding can give rise to the succeeding, constantly serving as four conditions. Within the former part, the textual points are six: namely, first contact, six contacts; next, learning worldly affairs; next, indulgence in domestic life; next, creating various karmas; next, enjoying sensory spheres; and finally, either proceeding to the five destinies or entering nirvāṇa, according to the text. After being born, it is called the link of contact. Regarding the explanation of the four conditions, saying "Moreover, all sentient beings" introduces those capable of giving rise [to others]. "Towards such sentient beings," and so forth, clarifies that which is produced. From "Those having..." downward, it again analyzes that which produces and that which is produced, up to "this again with respect to others," which means that the grandfather is capable of producing the father, the father produces the son, the son produces the grandson, and the grandson subsequently produces later grandsons.
